What kind of dentures should I get?

Once it is decided that dentures will be your tooth-replacement option of choice, there are three types of dentures that our practice offers that you will have to choose from. Partial dentures are used to replace a few missing teeth on one arch, so if you only have a couple of missing teeth, a custom partial denture that clasps onto the other teeth could be a great choice. We also offer traditional full dentures, which rest on top of the gums, and implant-supported dentures, which are full dentures that attach to a few implants that are placed in the arch.

How do you take care of dentures?

You should always strive to take good care of your dentures to ensure that they look great and last for as long as possible. Dentures need to be cleaned at least once per day with a soft-bristle toothbrush and a denture cleaner, as toothpaste is typically too abrasive for them. You will also want to soak them overnight in a denture solution to keep them moist and so they retain their shape. This also helps kill bacteria and gives your gums a chance to rest during the night.

Are dentures affordable?

Dentures are one of the more cost-effective tooth-replacement options, but we understand when patients are concerned about fitting the cost of dentures into their annual dental budget. Our office is very insurance friendly, so if you have dental insurance, we recommend checking with your provider to see if custom dentures are fully or partially covered. We also offer our Smart Choice Dental Savings Plan, which can help uninsured patients save big on services like dentures. To learn more, please contact us or visit our financial page.
